Live, Laugh, etc

  It’s often said in shows or any form of entertainment that comedy is difficult to pull off. This is due to factors such as timing, relevance, surprise, etc. In The Importance of Being Earnest, I found dialogues such as “The bag is undoubtedly mine. I am delighted to have it so unexpectedly restored to me. It has been a great inconvenience being without it all these years.” to be humorous because of the sarcasm and the absurdity of the situation. From this, you can probably tell that I find satire to be very funny and entertaining.  The game Grand Theft Auto V, which depicts its setting as a mockery and parody of present-day America, is something I found very similar with our reading on Earnest in terms of storytelling with humor. For example, one of the main protagonists, Michael, is very wealthy, but he has a complicated relationship with his family, which requires him to go to ridiculous lengths to try and get accepted. Threads of time

I often encounter that when I’m productively working and check the time, only about ten minutes would’ve passed. But when I pick up my phone for what feels like just a moment, an hour seems to fly by. Time is something we always have in mind, but take it for granted, especially in this day and age. I’ve come to realize that it's inarguably the most valuable asset someone could have, given that you can’t “make” more time.  I see the limitation of time as a double-edged sword. On one hand, it can be a problem for each individual person, but on the other, the truth is that the scarcity of time is important for society as a whole. As time runs out to do something, I get pressured, which motivates me to get something done. In contrast, if an assignment had a later due date or no due date at all, I probably wouldn’t do the assignment until the last minute or wouldn’t do it at all, which is probably relatable for most people.  The dependency that our world has on time pressure is str...
